Liu stressed that due to the postponement of the Asia Games, his duties aren’t as heavy for the national team, and Qingdao was generous with their offer and that prompted him to take on the new role.

After the news broke out, Zhejiang Golden Bulls released another statement to congratulate Liu’s new role; however, the tone is very different this time. In the statement, Zhejiang stated that Liu left the team abruptly, which caused some issues with the team. It also mentioned that Liu’s contract duration goes well into next year.
